CK is a laser-less procedure that can help farsighted patients over 40 reduce their dependence on glasses or contact lenses. CK is a quick procedure with no incisions involved. In the CK procedure, radio frequency energy is used to shrink your corneal tissue and steepen your cornea. This predictable change in the curvature of the cornea reduces the level of farsightedness.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved CK in April 2002 for the treatment of low to moderate farsightedness. CK has also been shown to improve near and distance vision in patients with presbyopia. Since CK is less invasive, it can be a great alternative to laser refractive surgery.
