PHILLIP BRUNSON, OD, FAAO

Phillip B. Brunson, O.D., F.A.A.O. is a board certified optometrist specializing in the fields of refractive surgery and ocular pathology. He is proficient in utilizing state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment to analyze candidacy for LASIK, cataract surgery, and treatment of the different forms of glaucoma.

Dr. Brunson presently serves as an adjunct Associate Clinical Professor at the University of Houston, College of Optometry for both optometry students and residents. During his time with Mann Eye Institute, he has participated as a clinical investigator in FDA trials for the Alcon ReSTOR intraocular implants and as an author in several clinical and scientific papers.

Dr. Brunson received a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology from the University of Texas at Austin in May of 1998. He then attended the University of Houston College of Optometry, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Doctorate of Optometry. During that time, he earned various awards recognizing his high level of clinical excellence in patient care and was inducted into the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society and the Gold Key International Optometric Honor Society. He has completed internships specializing in the fields of glaucoma and laser vision correction.

Currently, Dr. Brunson serves as a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry. He is an active member of the American Optometric Association, the Texas Optometric Association, and the Optometric Council on Refractive Technology.
