LASIK Laser Vision CorrectionVISX STAR S4The difference is our technology
CustomVue LASIKCustomVue LASIK uses WaveScan® technology, originally developed for use in high-powered space telescopes, to measure the unique imperfections in your vision. The WaveScan produces a sophisticated, one-of-a-kind map of your vision. Once your eyes are measured and mapped, the information is transferred into the laser, tailoring your procedure to your personal vision needs. The VISX STAR 4 excimer laser system then uses WaveFront Guided Technology, ActiveTrak and your WaveScan measurements to insure the best possible outcome. Our Visx STAR 4 Laser uses one of the advanced eye tracking technology, along with variable beam capabilities, so each procedure can be fully customized to your vision needs. Over 2 million procedures and counting have been performed on the VISX STAR 4 and it is world renowned for its precision, comfort and safety. With the VISX STAR 4, dilation of the pupils is not necessary, so patients experience faster vision recovery and less discomfort. 3D ActiveTrakActiveTrak is the only system that allows the doctor to track eye movement in all three dimensions. The 3D ActiveTrak feature of the VISX STAR 4 Laser allows for pinpoint accuracy by automatically tracking the tiny motions of your eye in all three directions during the laser procedure. The eye tracker offers a high level of precision, comfort, and safety. This new technology makes older eye trackers — which require dilation — virtually obsolete. WaveScan - Your Personal Best Vision
The WaveScan produces a visual representation, or map, of how your eye's own optical system processes light. This map provides a precise and detailed analysis of your eye's unique visual characteristics. Much like your own fingerprint, no two eyes are exactly alike. Dr. Mann then uses this analysis to create an individualized treatment plan to correct your eyesight for an optimal visual result. The Wave Scan's digital information is then transferred to the VISX Star S4T Excimer laser system, providing you with an increased level of precision and accuracy. The new CustomVue system takes LASIK to an entirely new, personalized level. WaveFront technology is groundbreaking because it has the potential to improve not only how small a line you can read on the eye chart, but also how well you can see, in terms of contrast sensitivity and fine detail. This translates into a reduced risk of glare, halos and difficulty with night vision post-LASIK. |
