Keith dealt with the struggle of wearing contacts for almost two decades. After coming to Mann Eye Institute for LASIK, he is enjoying clear, comfortable vision without his contacts. His only regret? Waiting so long to contact us. This is Keith’s LASIK Story:

“I’ve been nearsighted as far back as I can remember and progressed from wearing glasses to contacts in the fifth grade. While the quality of lenses has improved over the years, I have never been satisfied with the sharpness of my vision or the comfort of my eyes.

Often while playing sports I’d have to fumble with a contact that slipped out of position, or while hunting I’d find myself squinting to determine what a far-off object was. Additionally, with my current job taking me to remote locations for weeks at a time, I’d always have to ensure I had a backup set of lenses handy. Finally, after almost 20 years of contacts, I decided the time was right for LASIK.

I was hesitant at first, as I avoid elective surgery, but the professional and knowledgeable staff at Mann Eye Institute quickly assuaged my concerns. The initial consultation was thorough but quicker than expected, and I left with all my questions answered. The procedure itself was over before I knew it, and after a long nap I was up and mobile later that evening.

I could never have expected how dramatically LASIK would change the quality of my life. I had accepted the downsides of contacts as a fact of life, but LASIK lifted that burden off my shoulders with one quick procedure.

My vision has improved beyond anything my contacts were able to provide me, and I no longer have to deal with the discomfort that comes from long hours in contacts. My only regret is that I waited so long to correct my vision, and I couldn’t be happier with the results!”

If you’re ready to say goodbye to contacts and all the discomfort they bring, then let’s talk.
