Honour Cessac, OD

Dr. Honour Cessac

Honour L. Cessac, OD, is the director of the Mann Eye Institute and Laser Center in Austin. She is board certified in the treatment and management of ocular disease by the International Association of Board of Examiners in Optometry and in the Texas Optometry Board as a therapeutic optometrist. She received postgraduate certification as a Glaucoma Specialist in 2000.

Dr. Cessac has been specializing in refractive surgery co-management for Dr. Mann since 1995 and has been in the Austin location since 1998. A native Texan, born in Fredericksburg, she did her undergraduate coursework at the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Houston. She received her doctorate at the University of Houston College of Optometry with letters of excellence in Ocular Pathology.

Over the years, Dr. Cessac has enjoyed participating in the many advances in ophthalmology, especially refractive and anterior segment surgery. Prior to attending optometry school, she was board certified as an ophthalmic technician, surgical assistant and retinal angiographer by the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel. She developed interest in refractive surgery while working through school in a high volume microsurgical center in Houston.

Dr. Cessac is an active member of the American Optometric Association, the Texas Optometric Association, the Central Texas Optometric Association, the Optometric Refractive Surgery Society, and the International Society of Refractive Surgery. She served as one of the co-managing participants in the FDA clinical trials for the insertion of implantable contact lenses for the correction of hyperopia (farsightedness) and myopia (nearsightedness). Dr. Cessac feels privileged to work in a field of continued technological advances and gaining first-hand knowledge and experience in a cutting edge company.

Dr. Cessac, her husband Dane, and their daughter Rhéa Morgan reside in Driftwood, TX.
