Since our surgeons began performing LASIK more than decade ago, we’ve been fortunate to serve tens of thousands of patients from around the world in helping them improve their vision through this breakthrough procedure. We hear stories every day from patients who can now enjoy their favorite hobbies, perform better at work or simply feel safer and more secure with the improved vision they experience after LASIK. You are in experienced hands with our Austin and Houston LASIK surgeons.
The All-Laser LASIK technology we offer is called the WaveLight system. Using this system, our surgeons are able to create treatments specifically for patients experiencing nearsightedness, farsightedness and even astigmatism. The WaveLight system is incredibly fast and accurate – the procedure time can be measured in seconds. The most common thing we hear from patients immediately after WaveLight LASIK? “That’s it? It’s already over?”
If you are frustrated with the hassles of glasses and contacts, call Mann Eye Institute to discover if you’re a candidate for the Blade-Free LASIK procedure. The procedure takes only minutes to perform and with the new advanced technologies, our experienced surgeons are able to customize your procedure to your individual vision needs and your lifestyle.
With today’s state-of-the-art technologies, you can have your procedure one day and return to your normal activities the very next day. Schedule your free LASIK consultation today at one of our 10 convenient locations around Houston & Austin. 1-800-698-4746.

One of the most exciting and growing fields in ophthalmology in the past decade has been the field of advanced cataract surgery. Not long ago, cataract surgery was a procedure that required significant down time and provided limited vision benefits following the procedure. This is not so with today’s advanced cataract procedure options at Mann Eye Institute.
A cataract is a clouding of the eye’s natural lens as a part of the body’s normal aging process. As a cataract matures, reading and driving may become more difficult.
In the past, cataract surgery involved removal of the cataract with a metal blade and stitches, which resulted in an extensive recovery period. With today’s advanced laser technology, most patients are able to enjoy our blade-free, no-stitch laser cataract procedure, which results in a safer, more precise procedure and quicker recovery times.
In fact, you can now take advantage of our Active Life Lens procedure for cataracts, which is designed to help reduce (and in some cases, eliminate) the need for readers, bifocals or trifocals following the procedure. What’s more, laser cataract surgery with the Catalys laser system now brings a new level of accuracy to the cataract procedure itself, and many patients are back to normal activities within days following the procedure.
Discover more about these two breakthrough technologies and how patients are taking advantage of advanced cataract surgery to live the active lifestyles they desire. Our Austin and Houston cataract surgery experts can help you understand all technology and lens implant options during a diagnostic eye exam.
If you are over the age of 40, you’ve probably noticed your vision has changed. Maybe you are having difficulty reading or trouble focusing on nearby objects. This condition is called age-related presbyopia, also known as “over-40 vision.” The good news: The doctors at Mann Eye Institute can help.
The Corneal Inlay (sometimes called a corneal implant) is a tiny, ring-shaped disc that is placed securely within the cornea of one eye, allowing the eye to have greater depth of focus and greatly improving reading vision, while maintaining distance vision. Smaller and thinner than the average contact lens, the Corneal Inlay is just 3.8 mm in diameter and has a 1.6 mm opening in the center (pinhole). Surrounding the pinhole are 8,400 tiny openings that allow oxygen and other nutrients to flow naturally through the eye.
