Jessie Ustick, OD, MS

A native Houstonian, Dr. Jessica Ustick left Texas to attend Rhodes College (Memphis, TN) where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry. Dr. Ustick then returned to her home state to obtain a Doctorate of Optometry at the University of Houston and graduated with honors (Summa Cum Laude). She enjoyed serving her UH optometric community by working as a teaching assistant and tutor, and holding leadership positions in the school’s chapters of the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society and the Fellowship of Christian Optometrists. Throughout her optometric education, Dr. Ustick received multiple awards recognizing her excellence in clinic, patient care, ocular disease, and optics. She completed externship clinical training at several practices in Houston where she gained experience in specialty contact lens fitting, ocular pathology and myopia management, providing care to special needs adults and children, and refractive and cataract surgery co-management.

During her time at UH, Dr. Ustick also completed her Master of Science degree in Vision Science studying the optic nerve with ultrasound technology. She has presented her research at several national conferences and has been published in the Ophthalmic and Physiological Optics journal.

Dr. Ustick specialist enjoys connecting with her patients and providing state-of-the-art eye care. In her free time, she loves being outdoors (except during the heat of Houston’s summer), playing basketball, caring for her houseplants, spending time with friends and family, and traveling (her favorite trip was to Iceland, Norway, and Scotland).
