Louis S. Binder, O.D., specializes in the evaluation, treatment and management of LASIK, cataracts, dry eye, keratoconus, specialty contact lenses, and diabetic eye care. He is a FDA Sub Investigator for the approval of new technologies in the eye care field as well as a FDA Sub Investigator and Study Coordinator for new dry eye therapies.
A native Houstonian, Dr. Binder earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. He later became the first optometrist to be certified as a LASIK surgical assistant in Texas allowing him to actively participate in all aspects of patient care through their entire Laser vision experience.
Dr. Binder has served as a Senior National Board Examiner in the clinical competency of fellow optometrists and is a member of the International Society of Refractive Surgery.
Aside from spending time with his family, his interest include teaching sailing, cycling and Volunteering at the George Observatory.
