Dr. Martin Baumohl is a board certified therapeutic optometrist who specializes in performing comprehensive eye examinations for both corrective eyewear and the diagnosis and treatment of ocular disease. Since joining the Mann Eye Institute in 1999, he has been an integral part of our Humble Clinic and Surgical Center team, and is thrilled to be part of our newest location in the Spring/Woodlands/Tomball area. Along with a special proficiency in difficult to fit contact lens patients, Dr. Baumohl is a certified glaucoma specialist, and is directly involved in the pre and post operative care of cataract surgery and laser vision correction patients, utilizing the very latest diagnostic equipment and treatment techniques.
In 1994, Dr Baumohl earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry. He graduated with Beta Sigma Kappa honors, earning a letter of clinical excellence at every level. For five years following graduation, he served as clinical faculty at the college in their primary care, pediatric, and contact lens clinics. Prior to optometry school, Dr. Baumohl attended the Unversity of Maryland at College Park where he completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology in 1989.
Dr. Baumohl is a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry, and is an active member of both the American Optometric Association and the Texas Optometric Association. He has also been awarded the distinction of Adjuct Associate Professor for his work with optometric interns from the University of Houston College of Optometry. He currently resides in the Spring/Woodlands area with his wife Amy and their twin daughters Sara and Lily.
