5 Things Only People Who Wear Glasses Will Understand

5 Things Only People Who Wear Glasses Will Understand

People who wear glasses basically have their own culture. There are some things that people with perfect vision will never understand. It’s okay, it’s not their fault, but they don’t understand the struggle. If you’re in the know, then you’ve probably had to deal with these little everyday hassles that are enough to drive you insane when they happen for the MILLIONTH time.

1. Literally Foggy Vision

The number one, absolute worst part of glasses is how often the weather just makes you go blind. Rain is annoying, and fog is even worse. You’d think this would be a minor thing, but why should crummy weather be allowed to rob you of your sight??

It’s a cold day outside and you walk into a warm building… good luck seeing.

It’s a hot and humid day outside and you step out from an air-conditioned car/building… bye-bye vision.

It’s just a foggy day… you get it.

And that’s just outside! Don’t forget about opening the oven, drinking hot tea or coffee, or even working out. Basically, glasses are always just a second or two away from being completely useless when extreme temperatures are at play.

2. Working Out

Working out while wearing glasses is legit awful. The second your nose gets sweaty, you put your frames in immediate danger of kissing the ground. So you push your glasses back up, but within seconds, they’re sliding toward the tip of your nose once again.

Even worse is trying to swim laps when you need glasses:

Yes, this list is about glasses, but let’s be real; it’s no fun to work out in contacts either. Sweat in your eye is always a hassle, and contacts only make it that much more miserable. Basically, if you’re vision-impaired, you’re not going to have a good time working out.

3. Cleaning glasses. All The Time.

There are two kinds of people who wear glasses. Those who compulsively clean their glasses and those who can barely see through a cloudy, smudgy mess.

Constantly cleaning your glasses would be fine, if it didn’t make it worse half the time. It makes you wonder if glasses manufacturers are intentionally making their lenses more prone to smudge so they can sell more glasses cleaner. 🤔

4. The Glare in Every Photo

This. In every single photo. Ugh. WHY?

Not even professional photographers know how to avoid glare in photos with glasses. What hope do we have to take quality selfies if the pros are messing this up? What kind of cruel joke is it that people with lenses on their face can’t take decent pictures of themselves?? 😭

5. Everyone Stealing your Glasses

What is people’s obsession with trying on other people’s glasses? It’s not like they’ll be able to see themselves anyway. As the Georgia Satellites so eloquently sang, “Keep your hands to yourself!”

Look, it’s not that we hate glasses, we just know you deserve better. LASIK is a great way to overcome the everyday hassles of glasses (or contacts). And, Mann Eye Institute is the exactly the kind of LASIK practice you want to put your trust in: experienced, known for their results, and full of expert surgeons.

We’re not saying that LASIK is for everyone. But, if you’re going to lose the next time your glasses fly off at yoga, then maybe it’s time to schedule an appointment.
