Your yearly or bi-yearly exam can be the biggest factor in saving your vision should you have any vision-threatening diseases. Many eye diseases do not show any symptoms until irreparable damage has been done. Early Detection of Eye Diseases

Mann Eye Institute is well versed in the early detection of such diseases such as glaucoma, which if not caught early on will cause irreversible vision loss in patients. You will need a yearly or bi-yearly eye exam depending on your eye health, family history of eye disease, age, and other factors. Those with diabetes are at risk of developing diabetic retinopathy and other related diseases, and it is recommended that they have a yearly exam.

Our eye care doctors will start by discussing your health history, and anything that may affect your eye health. During your eye, one of our experienced ophthalmologists will check your quality of vision using various tests. You will be given a prescription for eyeglasses or contacts if needed. They will test you for glaucoma, cataracts, and check your retina for macular degeneration.
