Year at a Glance

It was a great 2019 at Mann Eye Institute. We celebrated our 42nd anniversary in Houston! That’s right; 42 years of helping Texans See Life Better. What an amazing ride it has been. We also debuted a new Active Life Lens for our cataract patients. The PanOptix® Trifocal Lens is an incredible advancement in lens technology. You can read more about it here. We added to our amazing team of vision experts and we broadened our scope of services. One thing you can count on, Mann Eye Institute has been and will continue to be here to serve you and your family’s eye care needs with excellence and innovation, delivering the highest level of patient care.

Food (for thought) that Won’t Make You Break Your New Year’s Resolutions

As you step into the new year, we’d like to share a few things to consider when reflecting on how to make the most of your 2020!

New Year, New Benefits.
We’re talking about vision care benefits and flex plan benefits through your employer. Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) are employer-sponsored programs that allow you to put aside pre-tax dollars for out-of-pocket medical expenses. With the right planning, you can use your FSA to contribute to the cost of your vision improvements with Mann Eye Institute. Imagine seizing the opportunity for 20/20 in 2020!
Pro tip: FSAs are voluntary programs, and not all employers offer them. If your employer offers an FSA, you will have the option to enroll at the beginning of the plan year, which is typically January 1. At that time, you must commit to an amount of money to be taken out of each paycheck and placed in your FSA. You will not pay taxes on this money. The only downside is that if you do not use this money by the end of the plan year, you may have to forfeit it.

Reach for 20/20 in 2020.
A commitment to caring for your eyes is important for everyone, no matter how young or old. Here at Mann Eye Institute, we can take care of your vision in every season of life. Tired of the hassles of glasses and contacts? All-laser LASIK at Mann Eye Institute could be right for you. Struggling with “over-40” vision and sick of buying (and losing) reading glasses? Talk to us about our solutions for reading vision woes. Think you might have cataracts? Our surgeons are among the most experienced in the nation and we specialize in Active Life Lenses that can give you the opportunity to reduce, and in some instances, even eliminate your dependency on glasses, bifocals and even readers after cataract surgery.

Invest in Yourself.
Drooping eyelids can interfere with vision and make for tired-looking, aged eyes. At Mann Eye Institute, we offer a unique approach to eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) that can restore a bright-eyed, youthful appearance. Performed by our board-certified ophthalmologists with vast experience in cataract, reconstructive, cosmetic and plastic surgery, we’ve helped countless people just like you achieve an open-eyed, refreshed look. Schedule an initial consultation today with the experts at Mann Eye Institute. We will share all of our eye-opening options (including non-surgical treatments like BOTOX®) to give you a clear idea of what will benefit your vision and lifestyle.

If you’re already our loyal patient, we thank you. If you’d like to become a part of the Mann Eye Institute family, we invite you to get in touch! Happy New Year and we can’t wait for you to See Life Better.
