Joe Michael Salazar, O.D., is a Mann Eye 2 therapeutic optometrist specializing in primary eye care. He sees patients at the Mann Eye 2 Baybrook location at 1535 West Bay Area Blvd. in Webster, TX
As a primary eye care provider, Dr. Salazar conducts comprehensive eye exams, treats common vision problems such as nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism, and prescribes glasses and contact lenses. He also offers management of ocular diseases including glaucoma.
Dr. Salazar received his bachelor’s degree in biology at the University of Houston and a doctor of optometry degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry. He completed specialty eye care training through externships in cataract and laser vision correction surgery co-management, ocular disease management, contact lenses, and geriatric optometry.
In addition, during his ophthalmology training, Dr. Salazar received several prestigious awards including Dean’s Academic List, the Bausch and Lomb Contact Lens Pathology Award and Most Outstanding Student in the Texas Optometry Opportunities Program.
Dr. Salazar is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Texas Optometric Association. He is active in several community service projects, including Eyecare for Kids, the Lions Club and the Gift of Sight Mission through the Luxottica Foundation.
